I also have examined the prints in this case, and have formed the opinion that they are not from the same finger. And, I have been an examiner for a ten years .....

But, what is more important than my opinion is the refusal of the original examiners to admit that they have made an erroneous identification. The role of fingerprint identification relies on the objectivity and integrity of us examiners. As such, it is in our best interest to maintain this integrity and objectivity above all else. This includes the difficult situation of admitting error if and when one exists - even it this might result in loss of career.
